We are a community of families that support each other in becoming excellent parent mentors, providing inspirational group learning opportunities and strengthening faith in God founded on the principles taught by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Inspire Family Academy is not sponsored or affiliated with any specific church or religion. Families of all faiths are welcome.

INSPIRING Educational Philosophy...

We volunteer to provide inspirational experiences for our children. We adhere to Oliver DeMille's "A Thomas Jefferson Education" as our educational foundation and use Charlotte Mason for children and DeMille's "Hero Education" for youth as our educational methodologies. We use classic books as the basis of our education, infusing our lives with connections to the world, inspiring stories, cultural literacy and heroes to emulate. We remember that we are each responsible for our own education and freedom of choice is needed for real learning. We also know that we are each infinitely perfectible, so there is no time limit on learning. We focus on training and supporting parents to provide a self-directed learning environment at home, restoring the family as the center of our homes, our social groups and our education.  We respect and protect parents' time and energy to mentor their own children.

INSPIRING Children to…

• Follow a path through each phase to incrementally grow toward fully developed scholar skills and lifelong learning. 

• Love learning and love reading

 

INSPIRING Youth to…

• Get a scholar phase primarily through reading classic books. Read, Read, Read and Discuss!

• Continue to love learning and become self driven, guiding their own education

 

INSPIRING Parents to…

• Encourage youth to work towards 5000 scholar hours and inspire them to prepare for their life's mission. 

• Prepare children for a successful life by encouraging core character attributes.

• Ensure exposure to rich literature and a wholesome home environment to support family values. 

• Become a Lifelong Learner, and have confidence that there is no time limit on learning for any family member.

 

INSPIRING Mentors to…

• Facilitate foundational scholar classes of reading, writing, and mentor guided discussions. 

• Provide hands-on or real life application to complete the path of true learning.

• Begin with the end in mind, leading each Junior class working toward the goal of a true scholar phase and becoming a principled, lifelong learner.

• Allow for flexibility in classes that focus on Developmental Phase, not Age

• Partner with parents to Individualize education for every Learner

 

INSPIRING Leaders to…

• Develop school programs that support families’ home education, without overtaxing time or energy of parents or youth. 

• Expose parents to educational methodologies for junior children at home, to encourage appropriate developmental and academic growth.

• Train quality mentors who work with parents to individualize learning. A Mentor's job is to inspire and provide opportunity (without force, coercion or manipulation).

• Facilitate many inspirational elective opportunities, as requested by parents and scholars.

• Organize the school and create needful rules based on true principles, clear boundaries and trust.
